Malcolm Jamieson, one of our longest-serving members, recently passed away after a long fight with hip cancer. Malcolm was a dedicated rugby man and was known throughout rugby as one of life's real gentlemen. Malcolm, following his on field refereeing days, was for a long time our grading and exchange secretary and he will be missed by many in the rugby family. Malcolm was also much involved in the development of referees at the South West group level, observing and giving advice to referees aspiring to climb the greasy pole.
There will be a private funeral as his wife Janet says that there are far too many in these Covid days to accommodate. Instead, Janet will arrange a function to celebrate his life when the lockdowns permit.
The Rennie Grove Hospice charity looked after Malcolm in his last few months, and Janet has asked for any donations to be made to this charity using the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/malcolmjamieson
